5 Ronin showcased some of the most popular Marvel heroes of the time (Wolverine, Psylocke, Hulk, Punisher, and Deadpool) but it was done against the nearly overwhelming backdrop of Edo Japan. This period of Japanese history was characterized by the rule of the Shoguns. These warlords chose to "close" Japan from the rest of the world - literally. Because of this imposed isolation, Japan developed its own sense of style on nearly every front of civilized life. Food, the arts, metalworking, furniture creation, mores and manners. Everything was distinctly different. Refreshinly different when viewed from the lens of our twenty-first century world. I you liked how Edo Japan was presented in the pages of 5 Ronin they these items will surely interest you - a piece of a past that is gone from us, but never forgotten. |
