Did you see that scene in the movie "Pursuit of Happyness" where the kid loses his Captain America action figure? That was pretty heartbreaking. That also shows what toys like these could mean to a kid. The right action figure at the right time could be a constant childhood companion. A colorful multi-articulated action figure is a wonderful tool to exercise a young child's imagination - a hundred stories and a hundred battles is a great way to exercise the creative part of the mind. Beyond this, action figures are also wonderful collectibles. Usually the best collectors are adults since there is a financial aspect to this as well as a logistics aspect - some of these figures are hard to track down. I find that having a good display area and display case is essential for properly presenting a collection. These toys don't shine when cluttered in a corner together. Whether kid or collector, action figures are a fascinating and rewarding hobby. |
