Cooking Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 275 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Grease and line a loaf pan with aluminum foil.
  3. Sift the flour, baking powder, salt, cocoa powder, cinnamon, ground mace, nutmeg, allspice and cloves.
  4. Dredge the raisins, glazed fruits and walnuts in 1/4 cup of this mixture.
  5. Beat butter until light and fluffy.
  6. Add sugar while beating.
  7. Add eggs gradually while beating.
  8. Mix molasses, milk and brandy.
  9. Add nut mix to the butter mix.
  10. Add brandy mix to the butter mix.
  11. Pour into pan and spread evenly.
  12. Add toppings.
  13. Bake for one hour.
  14. Cool and brush with brandy.
  15. Wrap in aluminum foil.
  16. Age in refrigerator.
